Ohio State Organization - DKG

Correction!!!

Dear Chapter Treasurers,
I begin with an apology. The Money Matter$ article in the September 1 issue of The Voice contains inaccurate dues information. The information below is correct and reflects the approved Constitutional and International Standing Rule changes relating to membership dues and fees.

Below is a breakdown of International and Ohio member dues:
Active Members
International dues          $40.00
Ohio dues                        $13.00
Scholarship Fee                $ 1.00
Total                                $54.00
Collegiate and Reserve Members
International Dues         $20.00
Ohio Dues                        $ 6.00
Scholarship Fee               $ 1.00
Total                               $27.00

International Constitution Article IV, Sec. F. 2. b now reads:
The scholarship fee paid by a member shall be divided as follows:
One hundred percent (100%) to the state organization if the chapter does not maintain a chapter scholarship fund or twenty percent (20%) to the state organization fund if the chapter does maintain a chapter scholarship fund
Eighty percent (80%) retained by the chapter having a scholarship fund.
Chapter impact:  Chapters with a scholarship fund retain $0.80 of the scholarship fee paid by members. No change for chapters without a scholarship fund.
International Constitution Article III, Sec. B. 4 reads:
Collegiate members shall be undergraduate or graduate students who meet the following criteria:
Undergraduate student collegiate members shall
be enrolled in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education and
be enrolled within the last two years of their undergraduate degree.
Graduate student collegiate members shall have graduate standing in an institution offering an education degree and have the intent to continue academically and professionally in the field of education. When a collegiate member starts her career as a paid educator, she will pay active member dues and become an active member. If a collegiate member does not pursue a career as an active educator, her membership will expire upon graduation or withdrawal from the education degree program.

International Standing Rule 3.4 reads:
3.4 Collegiate Membership
3.41 A collegiate member may participate in the activities of the Society except holding office.
3.42 A collegiate member may serve as parliamentarian since the position of parliamentarian is not an elected office.

International Standing Rule 4.11 reads:
4.11 International active dues shall be forty dollars (U.S. $40), and international reserve and collegiate dues shall be twenty dollars (U.S. $20)…

Chapter impact: Chapters may now seek members at the undergraduate and graduate levels in education programs. Collegiate members pay reserve member dues and fees.

International Standing Rule 4.21 reads:
4.2 Fees
4.21 Initiate Fee
b The initiation fee shall be allocated:
           Chapter           U.S. $7.50
            State               U.S. $2.50

Chapter impact: Chapter retains more of the $10.00 collected initiate fee collected.

I close by asking you to share this information with chapter officers and members. The correct information will be on the website. Please visit www.alphadeltastate.weebly.com

Like you, I am understanding, processing and applying the implications of the 122 rule changes made at the International Convention. I look forward to your questions and comments. More information to follow via email to assist you in serving as your chapter treasurer.

Warm regards,
Diana
