The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation supports and encourages intercultural understanding and educational excellence.

1. Support and encourage intercultural understanding
2. Encourage standards of excellence in education
3. Assist and cooperate with schools, colleges, universities, and other persons, organizations, trust funds, or foundations in support, encouragement, and improvement of education.
History:
The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation was established in 1964. Generous contributions from the Society, members, chapters, and friends have provided funds to support Projects that carry out the Mission and Purposes of the Foundation. Gifts to the Educational Foundation are welcome at any time and are tax deductible in the United States. Since its inception the Educational Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $3.1 million in its efforts to improve, enrich and encourage intercultural understanding and educational excellence. Lucile Cornetet bequeathed the largest gift ever granted to the Society. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Executive Board approved the appointment of a special committee to investigate using the funds from the Lucile Cornetet Bequest for the advancement of professional development. The Lucile Cornetet Fund for Professional Development was established in 2005. The proceeds from this investment are administered by The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation to support professional development of educators.
The Lucile Cornetet Professional Development Fund offers assistance to educators in
two ways:
1. Individual Professional Development Awards - All professional educators may apply for these competitive awards. Application forms are available on the Resources page. Deadline dates are February 1, May 1, and September 1 of each calendar year.
2. Professional Development Seminars - Regions, areas, or state organizations of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International may apply for this award to offer professional seminars in their areas. Application information and forms for the November 1 deadline are available on the Resources page.
"Foundation Liaison News"
Foundation Liaison News issues are sent 4 times a year to all state organization Educational Foundation liaisons to promote the Foundation and to share foundation information with the state organizations.
Lucile Cornetet Awards for Professional Development
Individual Awards
Cornetet Individual Awards for Professional Development (CIPD) are available to all employed educators who meet the stated criteria. The application process is competitive.
Awards (money) given to individual educators assists their participation in professional development opportunities through approved professional development providers such as colleges, universities, and professional organizations other than The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. As of May 2014, $476,380.00 has been granted as Individual Professional Development Awards.
Awards will fund participation in:
• Conferences
• Seminars
• Lecture series
• National certification
• Online courses
• Workshops and other non-degree programs
Awards may fund travel, lodging, meals, pay for substitutes, registration fees, etc. Awards may not be used to reimburse for activities already completed, to pursue a degree program, or to fund an educational project.
Individual Awards Application (February 2015 document) deadlines are February 1, May 1, and September 1 of each year.

Cornetet Professional Development Seminar Awards are granted to sponsor professional development seminars. Regions, areas, and state organizations of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International may apply for a Seminar Award to assist in providing professional development opportunities for educators in their locale. As of November 2013, a total of $83,730 has been awarded for Seminar Awards.
